An example of the great work MAR is doing on the ground!
The children in this group are in the Domey displacement camp situated in the Beledweyne region of Somalia on the banks of the Shebelle river with high malaria prevalence. They are among the many families that have fled from floods, drought and the terror of Al Shabab. Many are orphans. What they all have in common is general malnutrition and the great risk they face from malaria.
These children’s daily lives consist of begging and handouts as their parents have lost all their livelihoods. Governmental services or any form of institution in this region are non-existent due to the long civil war.
MAR has been instrumental in providing malaria kits as well as nutritional foods to these families.
